All Brockhampton Albums Ranked Best to Worst (2026)

Brockhampton released eight studio albums between 2017 and 2022, and this page ranks all eight, from Saturation to TM. The 2016 mixtape All-American Trash, the compilations (including the Saturation Boxset and Saturation Drafts) and the members' solo records, such as Kevin Abstract's albums, are not ranked.

Why it ranks here

Many critics called Saturation III the strongest of the trilogy, and it is the tightest: "Boogie" opens at full volume, "Bleach" is their most affecting hook, and "Stains" and "Sister/Nation" push the group's sound into new shapes. Romil Hemnani and Q3 handle most of the production, and every member gets a strong moment. HipHopDX called it their strongest project yet; Metacritic averaged 82.

Context

Released December 15, 2017 and initially promoted as the group's final album, it debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200. It was the last album with founding member Ameer Vann, who left in May 2018.

Highlights

  • Boogie
  • Bleach
  • Johnny
  • Stains
  • Sister/Nation

Weak Spots

  • The "Cinema" skits break the momentum
  • Ends a run whose novelty had begun to fade for some listeners

Production

Romil Hemnani · Jabari Manwa · Kiko Merley · Bearface · Joba

Influence

Completed the trilogy that made Brockhampton the defining internet-era rap group of 2017.

Replay Value

Very high.

Why it ranks here

Most reviewers preferred Saturation II to its predecessor. "Gummy", "Swamp", "Junky" and "Sweet" each arrived with a video, and the album is more aggressive and more varied. Pitchfork felt the group had fixed several of the debut's flaws, though Fact warned of quantity winning over quality on slower tracks like "Chick".

Context

Released August 25, 2017, less than three months after Saturation; it debuted at No. 57 on the Billboard 200, the group's first chart entry.

Highlights

  • Gummy
  • Swamp
  • Junky
  • Sweet
  • Sunny

Weak Spots

  • Slower tracks drag
  • Skits again interrupt the flow

Production

Romil Hemnani · Jabari Manwa · Kiko Merley · Bearface · Kevin Abstract

Influence

Turned an internet curiosity into a group with a real audience and set up the trilogy's finale.

Replay Value

Very high.

Why it ranks here

Put together in less than a month, Saturation introduces seven rappers and singers who trade verses over beats from Romil Hemnani and Q3. "Gold", "Star" and "Face" show the range from posse cut to ballad. Pitchfork found it split between effortless cool and empty platitudes, but the chemistry is undeniable.

Context

Independently released June 9, 2017 through Question Everything and Empire, preceded by six singles, each with a music video.

Highlights

  • Heat
  • Gold
  • Star
  • Boys
  • Face

Weak Spots

  • Pitchfork found its softer moments sappy
  • Less distinctive than the two sequels

Production

Romil Hemnani · Jabari Manwa · Kiko Merley · Joba · Bearface

Influence

Its self-made visuals and rapid release schedule became a model for online collectives.

Replay Value

High — easy to return to.

Why it ranks here

Recorded partly at Abbey Road Studios and partly in Hawaii after Ameer Vann's exit, Iridescence is their most abrasive and fragmented album. "Tonya", first performed on The Tonight Show, "San Marcos", and "Weight" are among their best songs. Metacritic averaged 85, though Pitchfork's 6.6 reflected those who found it scattered.

Context

Released September 21, 2018 by Question Everything and RCA after a reported six-album deal; it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 101,000 units.

Highlights

  • New Orleans
  • J'ouvert
  • Weight
  • San Marcos
  • Tonya

Weak Spots

  • Abrupt shifts make it feel unfinished
  • Pitchfork was unconvinced

Production

Romil Hemnani · Jabari Manwa · Joba · Bearface · Kiko Merley · Kevin Abstract

Influence

Their only chart-topper, and the moment the group proved it could survive a major line-up change.

Replay Value

High, though its noise demands the right mood.

Why it ranks here

Roadrunner is the first Brockhampton album with major guests: Danny Brown on "Buzzcut", JPEGMafia on "Chain On", A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg on "Bankroll" and Charlie Wilson on "I'll Take You On". At its center are "The Light" and "The Light Pt. II", where Joba writes about his father's death. Metacritic averaged 79, and AllMusic called it a masterful group therapy session.

Context

Released April 9, 2021 through RCA and Question Everything and promoted as the penultimate album, it debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200.

Highlights

  • Buzzcut
  • Chain On
  • The Light
  • Count On Me
  • Dear Lord

Weak Spots

  • Guests occasionally overshadow members
  • Slower songs in the middle stretch lose focus

Production

Romil Hemnani · Jabari Manwa · Kevin Abstract · Baird · Chad Hugo · Bearface

Influence

Their last album with the full group performing, and their most emotionally direct.

Replay Value

High — easy to return to.

Why it ranks here

Kevin Abstract described Ginger as songs about anxiety and depression set to music people could dance to, and the softer, R&B-leaning sound suits that. "Sugar" became their only Billboard Hot 100 entry, and "Dearly Departed" and "Boy Bye" are among its strongest songs. Metacritic averaged 75; Pitchfork's 6.5 and Rolling Stone's mixed review found it too subdued.

Context

Released August 23, 2019 through Question Everything and RCA, it debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200; "Sugar" peaked at No. 66 on the Hot 100 months later.

Highlights

  • No Halo
  • Sugar
  • Boy Bye
  • St. Percy
  • Dearly Departed

Weak Spots

  • Mellow to the point of blending together
  • Lacks the energy of the earlier albums

Production

Jabari Manwa · Romil Hemnani · Kiko Merley · Kevin Abstract

Influence

"Sugar" brought them their widest audience yet.

Replay Value

Moderate to high.

Why it ranks here

Although credited to the group, The Family features Kevin Abstract as the only lead performer, over sample-driven production from Bearface, Boylife and Nick Velez. It is a candid account of the band's success, tensions and breakup, sharp in places but narrow by design. Metacritic averaged 79, and Clash gave it 9/10.

Context

Released November 17, 2022 and advertised as the final Brockhampton album, following the group's announced disbandment and their last shows at Coachella.

Highlights

  • Take It Back
  • RZA
  • Gold Teeth
  • Boyband
  • The Family

Weak Spots

  • Missing almost every member's voice
  • Short songs that often feel like sketches

Production

Bearface · Boylife · Nick Velez

Influence

An unusual farewell: a group album that documents the group from one member's view.

Replay Value

Moderate.

Why it ranks here

Released one day after The Family, TM brings back Kevin Abstract, Matt Champion, Dom McLennon, Jabari Manwa, Merlyn Wood and Joba on songs recorded between 2020 and 2021. Champion executive produced it, and "Animal", "Man on the Moon" and "Goodbye" are worthy closers. Clash called it a classic Brockhampton record, but it drew little attention and peaked at No. 100.

Context

Released November 18, 2022 through RCA and Question Everything, billed by the band as a parting gift for fans.

Highlights

  • FMG
  • Animal
  • Man on the Moon
  • Better Things
  • Goodbye

Weak Spots

  • Feels like a collection of outtakes
  • Overshadowed by The Family a day earlier

Production

Romil Hemnani · Kiko Merley · Jabari Manwa · Matt Champion · Joba · Baird

Influence

Closed the catalog with the full group together one last time.

Replay Value

Moderate.

Essay

The Complete Picture

The Saturation trilogy remains Brockhampton's core achievement, a burst of chemistry and DIY ambition with Saturation III as its sharpest statement. Iridescence and Roadrunner show the group handling loss and new pressure well, while Ginger, The Family and TM are more uneven but still contain some of their most personal writing.

Start with Saturation III or Saturation II, then move to Roadrunner for the later, more reflective Brockhampton.
