Atrocity Exhibition
(2016)“A post-punk panic attack and his masterpiece”
Named after a Joy Division song, Atrocity Exhibition is a portrait of addiction and anxiety set to off-kilter horns, clanging percussion and warped rock samples, most of them from Paul White. "Ain't It Funny" turns a breakdown into a manic carnival, "Really Doe" gathers Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul and Earl Sweatshirt for a posse cut, and "Downward Spiral" sets the claustrophobic tone from the first bars. It scored 85 on Metacritic and appeared on many year-end lists.
