All Mach-Hommy Albums Ranked Best to Worst (2026)

Mach-Hommy's discography counts fifteen solo studio albums, and this page ranks twelve of them, from Goon Grizzle (2004) to 5786 AM: Easy Listen (2026). Three are not ranked: The G.A.T..., issued only as a $999 vinyl, and the little-documented Luh Hertz and ETA: Greekfest. His collaborative albums with Tha God Fahim (the Dollar Menu, Dump Olympics, Duck CZN and Notorious Dump Legends series), Tuez-Les Tous with DJ Muggs, and his EPs are also excluded.

Why it ranks here

Executive produced by Westside Gunn after the two reconciled in late 2020, Pray for Haiti pairs Mach's sharpest writing with stripped-back beats from Conductor Williams, Camoflauge Monk, Nicholas Craven, Sadhu Gold and others. It scored 85 on Metacritic, earned Pitchfork's Best New Music with an 8.8, and Rolling Stone called it a modern hip-hop classic. It also made year-end lists from The Fader (No. 6), Complex (No. 8) and Pitchfork (No. 20).

Context

Released May 21, 2021 on streaming services, unusually for him, with part of the profits going to his Pray for Haiti Trust Fund for education in Haiti. The cover reworks Jean-Michel Basquiat's 1982 painting Untitled (Fishing).

Highlights

  • The 26th Letter
  • Folie à Deux
  • Kriminel
  • Magnum Band
  • Au Revoir

Weak Spots

  • Two skits interrupt a tight record
  • Westside Gunn's three features shift the tone

Production

Conductor Williams · Camoflauge Monk · Nicholas Craven · Denny LaFlare · Sadhu Gold

Influence

Brought him from collector circles to mainstream critical attention.

Replay Value

Very high.

Why it ranks here

Released six months after Pray for Haiti, Balens Cho is shorter and more intimate, its songs separated by numbered candle interludes. It explores the colonization of Haiti and his wish to open a tech school there. Pitchfork gave it 8.1 and noted that even at its most elegiac it avoids self-pity. Nicholas Craven produces much of it, with Conductor Williams, Fortes, Messiah Musik and Ras G.

Context

Released independently December 4, 2021; the title is Haitian Creole for "hot candles". A vinyl edition followed in September 2022.

Highlights

  • Labou
  • Separation of the Sheep and the Goats
  • Wooden Nickels
  • Traditional
  • Self Luh

Weak Spots

  • Five short interludes in a thirteen-track album
  • Little momentum by design

Production

Nicholas Craven · Conductor Williams · Fortes · Messiah Musik · Ras G

Influence

Confirmed that Pray for Haiti was not a one-off and extended his Haitian album series.

Replay Value

High; it rewards repeat listens.

Why it ranks here

Billed as the final installment of the series that began with H.B.O., #RICHAXXHAITIAN brings in Roc Marciano, Black Thought, Your Old Droog, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Kaytranada and 03 Greedo, with Sadhu Gold, Conductor Williams, Quelle Chris and Kaytranada among the producers. Pitchfork gave it 8.0 and called it a quintessential Mach-Hommy project, and Paste ranked it No. 4 among 2024's rap albums.

Context

Self-released May 17, 2024, a day before Haitian Flag Day, after listening sessions in New York priced at $77.77 and $1,111.11. It was removed from Spotify and YouTube within a week, and he criticized the platforms' handling of his metrics and metadata in a video.

Highlights

  • Antonomasia
  • Sur le Pont d'Avignon (Reparation #1)
  • Copy Cold
  • #Richaxxhaitian
  • Empty Spaces

Weak Spots

  • At forty-seven minutes it is less tight than the 2021 albums
  • The Kaytranada title track is an outlier

Production

Sadhu Gold · Conductor Williams · Kaytranada · Quelle Chris · Fortes

Influence

Appeared on year-end lists from The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Complex and Vibe.

Replay Value

High; it rewards repeat listens.

Why it ranks here

The album that first brought him wide attention, mostly produced by August Fanon with beats from Camoflauge Monk, Daringer, Roc Marciano and Knxwledge. Conway the Machine appears on "Midnite Xpress" and Keisha Plum on "Michele Ma Belle". Its scarcity became part of its reputation, but the eighteen tracks hold up as the first full statement of his style.

Context

Released in 2016 as 187 CDs sold through Instagram for $300 each, then uploaded to SoundCloud in 2017. It came out while he was associated with Griselda.

Highlights

  • Ti Geralde
  • Tunnel Vision
  • Midnite Xpress
  • Michele Ma Belle
  • Snow Beach

Weak Spots

  • Long at eighteen tracks
  • Hard to hear for years after release

Production

August Fanon · Camoflauge Monk · Daringer · Roc Marciano · Knxwledge

Influence

The first of the limited, high-priced releases that defined his early career, a model he pushed further with the $999 vinyl of The G.A.T....

Replay Value

High; it rewards repeat listens.

Why it ranks here

Wap Konn Jòj! is the second album in the Haitian series that #RICHAXXHAITIAN later closed. At seven songs it is brief, a link between the long, guest-filled H.B.O. and the focused 2021 albums.

Context

Released June 21, 2019, the same year as his collaborative album Tuez-Les Tous with DJ Muggs.

Highlights

  • Chiney Brush
  • Mozambique Drill
  • Wap Konn Jòj
  • Time Face
  • Simbi

Weak Spots

  • Only seven songs
  • Overshadowed by the albums it led into

Production

The Alchemist · Earl Sweatshirt

Influence

Links H.B.O. to the 2021 albums in his series.

Replay Value

Moderate to high.

Why it ranks here

Nine songs with Earl Sweatshirt on "Soon Jah Due", Your Old Droog on "Pour House" and Navy Blue on a "Clout Dracula" remix. It is looser than the Haitian series and works best as a snapshot of the underground circle he moved in before Pray for Haiti.

Context

Released August 8, 2020, months before his reconciliation with Westside Gunn.

Highlights

  • SBTM (Sweeney Been Told Me)
  • Soon Jah Due
  • Marshmallow Test
  • Pour House
  • NJ Ultra

Weak Spots

  • Feels like a collection rather than an album
  • Little thematic weight

Production

Earl Sweatshirt · The Alchemist · Messiah Musik

Influence

Kept him visible in the year before his breakthrough.

Replay Value

Moderate.

Why it ranks here

The strongest of his 2017 albums, with beats from Knxwledge, Sadhu Gold, Navy Blue, the Alchemist and Evidence and guests including Billy Woods on "383 Myrtle", Evidence on "Faraday Cage" and Meyhem Lauren. It is crowded but rarely dull.

Context

Released September 2, 2017, one of several albums he issued that year.

Highlights

  • Ron Van Clief
  • Faraday Cage
  • Gourmandise
  • 383 Myrtle
  • Riviera Ralph

Weak Spots

  • So many guests that he can disappear
  • Uneven sound across producers

Production

Knxwledge · Sadhu Gold · Navy Blue · The Alchemist · Evidence

Influence

Shows the network of producers and rappers he worked with before his solo breakthrough.

Replay Value

Moderate.

Why it ranks here

Eleven songs produced largely by Navy Blue, Earl Sweatshirt and the Alchemist, with Tha God Fahim on five of them. It previews the hazy, loop-based sound his later albums refined, though Fahim's frequent presence pushes it toward a duo record.

Context

Released June 10, 2017, one of several Dump Gawd titles.

Highlights

  • Rale Bulgarian
  • Allen Iverson
  • Conchshell
  • Nothin' but Net
  • Social Media

Weak Spots

  • Tha God Fahim appears on nearly half the tracks
  • Short songs with little development

Production

Navy Blue · Earl Sweatshirt · The Alchemist · Sadhu Gold · Preservation

Influence

An early meeting point between Mach and the Earl Sweatshirt and Navy Blue circle.

Replay Value

Moderate.

Why it ranks here

His newest album is built with California producer Playa Haze and features Blu, Mavi, Doley Bernays and Spank Nitti James across thirteen tracks. It is a change of setting after the Haitian series and too new to place with confidence.

Context

Released in 2026, his first solo album since #RICHAXXHAITIAN.

Highlights

  • Name, Image, Likeness
  • The Fifth Hammer
  • Jolly Good
  • Pre Dawn Chong
  • Trampolina

Weak Spots

  • Lower stakes than his recent albums
  • Too new to judge fully

Production

Playa Haze

Influence

Too new to judge.

Replay Value

Moderate.

Why it ranks here

One of his first albums, later remastered in 2016, F.Y.I. is thirteen tracks of early, unpolished Mach-Hommy. The writing already shows his range, but the album is much rougher than anything after H.B.O.

Context

Released in 2013 and remastered in 2016.

Highlights

  • Midrash
  • Newark
  • Laser-Guided
  • Egypt
  • Kinglish

Weak Spots

  • Rough, early-career sound
  • Thin production

Influence

Mostly of interest for tracing his development.

Replay Value

Low to moderate.

Why it ranks here

Nine short songs released on Valentine's Day 2018, during the period when most of his output appeared outside streaming services. It is pleasant but slight, and little in it matches the Haitian series.

Context

Released February 14, 2018.

Highlights

  • Grease
  • Honey Roasted
  • Open Sesame
  • Regina
  • Fubar

Weak Spots

  • Slight
  • Hard to find

Influence

Minimal.

Replay Value

Low to moderate.

Why it ranks here

His earliest listed album, made more than a decade before H.B.O. and re-released in 2017. At eight tracks it is a curiosity that shows where he started rather than a finished record.

Context

Originally from 2004 and re-released July 21, 2017.

Highlights

  • I'm Hood
  • TGV
  • Dress for Success
  • Monster
  • New Years

Weak Spots

  • Early, unformed writing
  • Short and rough

Influence

Minimal.

Replay Value

Low; mainly for completists.

Essay

The Complete Picture

Mach-Hommy's best work is the Haitian series that runs from H.B.O. (Haitian Body Odor) through Wap Konn Jòj!, Pray for Haiti and Balens Cho to its closing chapter, #RICHAXXHAITIAN. Pray for Haiti is the essential one: the most accessible, the best reviewed and the record that moved him beyond collectors. The 2017 run of Bandcamp albums is uneven but full of rewards for listeners who go looking.

Start with Pray for Haiti, then Balens Cho for the shortest and most concentrated record.
